V: Vertigo

Patient came in presenting with sudden onset of vertigo. She was unable to work, drive or perform regular daily activities due to the severity of her dizziness. She also suffered from nausea. Furthermore, she complained of weakness in her eyes, causing difficulty to focus.

From an objective perspective, the patient appeared to have an unsteady gait and had a hard time with bright lights and reading.

The assessment of this patient was to calm the Liver and Stomach channels and to relieve the dizziness and nausea.

The acupuncture treatment was two times a week, until her dizziness and nausea were gone and her eyes were able to focus completely.

The patient had two treatments and after the second treatment, her dizziness and nausea were gone and her eyes were able to focus.

A follow up with the patient six months later, confirmed that she experienced no relapse in vertigo or its symptoms.
